  1. Set the correct ring angle first by taking your normal stance and set-up inside the tube with a short iron. The angle of the ring should be about the same as the angle of the club shaft. (Fig. 1)

  2. After the correct ring angle is set, take your backswing, keeping the club shaft on (or parallel to) the tube until about waist high. (Fig. 2)

  3. Just past waist high, the club shaft should come off the tube as you complete your wrist cock and shoulder turn. (Fig. 3)
  4. The club should come back in contact (or parallel) with the tube after the start of the downswing. As you shift your weight, turn your hips and swing back down along the tube, dropping the club ’Äúinto the slot’Äù. (Fig. 4)

  5. From there through impact the club shaft should stay in contact (or parallel) with the tube. (Fig. 5 and 6)

  6. The club shaft will come off again at full finish. (Fig. 7)

Usage Tips
Any rough edges at the connecting point can be filed or sanded so club shaft can smoothly guide along tube.

Most pro golfers swing on 2 different planes. Their setup, takeaway, and impact is on one plane. At the top of their backswing the club is on a steeper plane. When they shift their weight forward and turn their body to start the downswing, the club drops back into the original, more shallow plane. This is commonly referred to as dropping the club ’Äúinto the slot’Äù.

The Groove Tube helps you feel what it’Äôs like to get the club into the slot. It helps you develop proper muscle memory in order to swing the club on the exact same path through impact as the pros do and make solid contact every time.
